Monday- All students must have 3 references in class for their research paper (test grade). Tuesday- Mock Trial practice/ work on outlineWednesday- Field Trip to CourthouseThursday- Students will learn how to do a formal title page and all the requirements for the research paperFriday-  OUTLINE DUE! The outline must include the thesis statement at the top of the paper.   **Saturday May 3 is the Great Strides walk- 9:00 am at Botanic Gardens.

Monday- overview and introduction to the last nine weeks of persuasive writing- notes on propaganda

Tuesday- computer lab- think link practice

Wednesday- review notes on propaganda- analyze products for the techniques used

Thursday- continue with practice on propaganda/ target audience

Friday- TEST on propaganda

**Monday is the last day to turn in books for Target House!!!

Week March 10- 14

Monday- “The Naming of Names” by Ray Bradbury- overview of story- begin vocabulary (19 words)

Tuesday-  complete vocabulary- begin reading story and completing story map- complete map of world and renaming landmarks

Wednesday- read and discuss story

Thursday- read and discuss story-vocabulary review- world map due

Friday- test on story

SERVICE PROJECT- Read Across America- March 2008- Students are encouraged to bring in books to donate to Target House (long term care home for St. Jude) March 12- 31!!!!  Thank you for helping us help others.

Tuesday: Complete postponed test on Review 6; Turn in Independent Poetry assignment (time was extended); Review for Reading Comprehension Test on Emily Dickinson poems, “I am Nobody” & “I Like to See It Lap the Miles,” “I am of the Earth,” & “Early Song.” It will include the following skills: metaphors, extended metaphors, personification, and imagery.

Monday- Finish Introduction to Review 6 Vocabulary; Meet the Writer: Emily Dickinson…Read “I’m Nobody”..Each class will receive their weekly poem to analyze.  This will be due on Friday..Enriched will also have an mini-project due that day.
